If you have cleared JEE Main and JEE Advanced is about two weeks away, the job changes. You are no longer learning new chapters. You are rehearsing one long exam day, fixing repeat mistakes, and arriving rested. Here is a 14-day plan built around four full paper pairs.
How should you revise in the last 15 days before JEE Advanced?
Start with the exam itself. The JEE (Advanced) 2026 Information Brochure says the examination has two papers of three hours each, and appearing in both is compulsory. In 2026 both were on the same day: Paper 1 from 09:00 to 12:00 IST and Paper 2 from 14:30 to 17:30 IST. Check the brochure for your year on jeeadv.ac.in, because dates and timings can change.
So practise in paper pairs, at those times.
Second, test yourself more than you reread. Henry Roediger and Jeffrey Karpicke found that students who took recall tests remembered prose passages better after two days and after one week than students who restudied, even though restudying made students feel more confident (Roediger and Karpicke, 2006).
Third, mistakes help if you correct them properly. Janet Metcalfe's review in the Annual Review of Psychology concludes that errors followed by corrective feedback help learning, that high-confidence errors are corrected more readily than low-confidence ones, and that analysing the reasoning behind a mistake is crucial (Metcalfe, 2017).
What does a 14-day JEE Advanced plan look like?
Day 1 is 14 days before the exam; Day 14 is the day before.
Day 1: Paper-pair mock 1 at exam times.
Day 2: Error review of mock 1; afternoon on fix-list questions.
Day 3: Physics formula pass in the morning; fix-list problems after lunch.
Day 4: Paper-pair mock 2.
Day 5: Error review 2.
Day 6: Chemistry formula pass in the morning; afternoon and evening off.
Day 7: Paper-pair mock 3.
Day 8: Error review 3.
Day 9: Maths formula pass; fix-list problems.
Day 10: Paper-pair mock 4, your last full one.
Day 11: Error review 4.
Day 12: Final formula pass, one page per subject.
Day 13: Light day. Re-solve ten questions from your error log, then check your admit card, ID and route to the centre.
Day 14: One hour with your three formula pages, then rest and sleep on time.
For the setup, see our guide to rehearsing a full mock under exam conditions at home.
How do you review a JEE Advanced mock in one day?
For every question you got wrong, skipped or guessed in the previous day's pair, write one error-log line with four parts:
Question and chapter, for example "P2 Q7, rotation".
What you did and how sure you were: sure, unsure or guessed.
The reason: concept gap, wrong method, calculation slip, misread, or time.
The fix in one sentence, plus one similar question to re-solve.
Start with the "sure but wrong" lines. Metcalfe's review found that errors made with high confidence are corrected more readily than low-confidence ones, so these are worth fixing first. Re-solve each without looking at the solution, then spend the afternoon on similar questions.
If your log keeps saying "wrong method", the Fermi Problem Library has worked problems with a step-by-step solver that explains the reasoning rather than printing an answer, so you can see where your approach went off track.
What should a formula pass include?
A formula pass is a test, not a reading session. On a blank page, write every formula, condition and exception you remember for one subject, then open your notes and mark what you missed in a second colour. Only the second-colour items go onto your final one-page sheet.
For example, you might write the parallel axis theorem correctly but forget that one of the two axes must pass through the centre of mass. That condition, not the formula, goes on the sheet.
If a formula keeps slipping because you never understood it, the Fermi Concept Library gives every concept in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and computing its own lesson.
How much sleep and rest do you need before JEE Advanced?
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommends that teenagers aged 13 to 18 sleep 8 to 10 hours per 24 hours on a regular basis (Paruthi et al., 2016). Keep a fixed bedtime across all 14 days, not just the last night; here is why sleep beats an all-nighter before an exam.
The half day off on Day 6 and the light Days 13 and 14 are part of the plan, not a reward. Walk, eat with your family, and put the phone away an hour before bed.
Parents help most by keeping home predictable and handling logistics; see how parents can help between JEE Main and Advanced. If worry stops you sleeping or eating, talk to someone you trust or call Tele MANAS, the free 24x7 national mental-health helpline, on 14416 or 1800-891-4416 (details from IIT Kanpur's counselling service).
Print the 14-day list, stick it above your desk, and tick off one day at a time.
