SRMJEEE is the entrance exam SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) uses for B.Tech admission. A seat comes through a chain of steps: apply for a phase, book a slot, sit the exam, accept an allotment, pay, enrol online, then show your originals on campus.
The facts below come from SRM's official notices for 2026, the most recent finished cycle; 2027 dates will come in fresh notices. For the paper itself, see our SRMJEEE guide to the exam pattern and pacing.
How do the SRMJEEE phases work?
According to the official SRMJEEE 2026 FAQ, SRMJEEE 2026 had three phases, and each phase needed its own non-refundable Rs 1,400 application. You can apply for one, two or all three.
The same FAQ gives the 2026 exam windows: Phase I from 24 to 29 April, Phase II from 10 to 15 June and Phase III on 4 and 5 July. You sit the remote proctored exam at home on a desktop or laptop with a webcam (not a phone), with at least 2 Mbps internet. There is no negative marking.
If Phase I does not go to plan, the weeks before Phase II are study time. Fermi's AI tutor can work out what you already know and build a plan for the session, so you spend those weeks on the topics that cost you marks.
How does SRMJEEE slot booking work?
The FAQ says there are two slots per exam day, slot booking opens tentatively 2 days before the exam starts, and you download your hall ticket once your slot is booked.
In practice the window came earlier. For Phase I in 2026, the important dates notice set slot booking and hall ticket download from 1 pm on 18 April to 11 pm on 20 April, an online mock exam from 21 to 23 April, and two sessions a day: 10.00 am to 12.30 pm, and 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm. So:
Book early in the window, in case the dates you want fill up.
Pick the session when you think most clearly.
Take the mock on the laptop and connection you will use on exam day.
What happens in SRMJEEE counselling?
Counselling is held online, separately for each phase. The Phase I Round I e-counselling manual sets out six steps:
Log in to the online admission portal and download your rank card.
Programme allocation: SRM allots a campus, programme and specialisation based on your rank, qualifying exam and other criteria.
Accept the allocation on the portal.
Pay Rs 1,10,000 (Rs 1,15,000 for Delhi-NCR, Sonepat): a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of Rs 10,000 (Rs 15,000) plus a counselling fee of Rs 1,00,000 that counts towards tuition.
Download your Provisional Allotment Letter (PAL).
Pay the balance tuition fee and complete online enrolment.
In 2026, the manual put Phase I Round I allocation and payment between 14 and 21 May, with the full fee due by 31 May. Miss the counselling fee deadline and the allotment is cancelled; miss the balance tuition deadline and the seat is cancelled. The FAQ adds that the course and campus picked on the application form are only for statistics.
What should you check before you pay to lock a seat?
The FAQ says fees paid after admission are refunded as per AICTE norms, but the counselling manual makes the registration fee non-refundable. Worked example: you applied for two phases (2 x Rs 1,400 = Rs 2,800) and paid the counselling amount at a Chennai campus. Even if everything else is refunded, that Rs 12,800 does not come back. See how to withdraw a seat and get a refund.
Before you pay, check together:
Is this better than your other likely offers?
Can the family pay the balance tuition by the full-fee deadline?
Is the bank transfer correct? The manual builds the account number from 1985, a campus prefix (KT for Kattankulathur, RP for Ramapuram, VP for Vadapalani) and your application number.
Have you saved the transaction ID and downloaded the PAL?
Which documents do you need for SRM enrolment?
The 2026 Kattankulathur enrolment manual has two stages. Online enrolment needs the full fee paid first; you upload scans (each under 200 KB), your Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID and an anti-ragging undertaking. In-person verification ran from 1 to 7 August 2026, with these originals:
Class 10 mark statement
Class 12 mark sheet and pass certificate (Class 11 mark sheet for Tamil Nadu State Board students)
Birth certificate
Class 12 transfer certificate or school leaving certificate
2 passport-size photographs taken in the last 6 months
Community certificate
The student and parent declaration form, downloaded from the portal
Our document verification day checklist covers copies and folders. When the 2027 notices come out, put every SRMJEEE deadline into one shared family calendar that day.
