After the TS EAPCET results are announced, securing your seat comes down to the counselling process. Every year, students miss out on their preferred engineering or pharmacy colleges because of mistakes in option entry or missing documents. Here is how the official process works, from the first fee payment to reporting on campus.
What are the TS EAPCET counselling process steps?
The counselling happens online across multiple phases (First, Second, and Final), followed by an internal sliding and spot admission round. According to the TGEAPCET official portal, the process follows a strict sequence:
Paying the processing fee online.
Booking a slot for certificate verification.
Attending physical certificate verification at a Help Line Centre (HLC).
Registering and generating a login password.
Exercising and freezing web options.
Downloading the provisional seat allotment order.
Self-reporting online and paying the tuition fee.
Reporting physically to the allotted college.
How does slot booking and certificate verification work?
Before you can choose colleges, you must verify your academic records. The first step is to pay the processing fee (which is typically ₹1,200 for OC/BC candidates and ₹600 for SC/ST candidates) via the TGEAPCET portal.
Once the fee is paid, you select a Help Line Centre (HLC) and a time slot. You must attend this slot in person. Carry all original documents along with two sets of photocopies.
Documents to carry for verification:
TS EAPCET Rank Card and Hall Ticket
Aadhaar Card
SSC (10th) and Intermediate (12th) marks memos
Transfer Certificate (TC)
Study certificates from Class 6 to Intermediate
Income Certificate issued for the current year (if claiming fee reimbursement)
Caste Certificate issued by a competent authority (if applicable)
After successful verification, the officer will hand you a "Receipt of Certificates." You will then receive a login ID on your registered mobile number.
How to exercise web options for TS EAPCET?
With your login ID, hall ticket number and password, you enter the web options portal. This is where you choose your preferred colleges and courses.
List in priority order: The computer system allocates seats strictly based on your rank and the order of your choices. Always place your dream college at number one, even if you think your rank is too low.
Enter maximum options: There is no limit to the number of options you can enter. Entering more options prevents you from being left without a seat.
Save frequently: Save your options after adding every few colleges.
Freeze carefully: You can change your saved options as many times as you want before the deadline. On the final day, your saved options will lock or "freeze" automatically.
If you are a parent supporting an engineering applicant, the strategy is similar across states. You can read more about how choice filling works in our guide to JoSAA counselling for parents.
What happens after seat allotment?
On the allotment day, you will log in and download the Provisional Allotment Order. If you are satisfied with the seat, you must accept it through "Self-Reporting" on the website and pay the specified tuition fee online.
If you do not self-report and pay the fee by the deadline, your allotment will be cancelled, and the seat will pass to someone else in the next round. You can participate in the second phase of counselling for a better seat even after self-reporting in the first phase. After the final phase of counselling is complete, you must report physically to your newly allotted college to hand over your original certificates and confirm admission.
Not everyone gets the seat they hoped for. If you decide to take a year to improve your score for the next cycle, setting a structured plan is vital.
